Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic treatment that involves pouring warm oil on the forehead to promote relaxation and alleviate stress and anxiety.
Shirodhara is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves a continuous stream of warm oil being poured onto the forehead for an extended period of time. The oil is usually a blend of herbs and is chosen based on the individual’s dosha or body type. Shirodhara is believed to promote relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and enhance overall well-being. It is also used to treat various neurological disorders, including migraines, and is considered a deeply nourishing and rejuvenating therapy.
Normally we use below described procedure based on your skin type and conditions.
The individual lies on their back on a massage table, with a small pillow or rolled-up towel under their neck to support their head.
The therapist heats the oil to a comfortable temperature and pours it into a vessel suspended above the individual's forehead.
The therapist then adjusts the flow of oil to a gentle stream and begins pouring it onto the individual's forehead, starting at the hairline and moving in a back-and-forth motion across the forehead.
The oil is poured continuously for a period of 30-60 minutes, during which time the individual is encouraged to relax and breathe deeply.
After the treatment, the individual is allowed to rest for a few minutes before getting up and showering to remove the excess oil from their hair and skin.
Overall, the Shirodhara treatment is a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience that is meant to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
